UK is forth most Technologically Advanced Country in the World

According to the International Telecommunications Union Index, Britain has the fourth best communications technology in the world just behind South Korea, Iceland and Denmark.

The findings take into account factors such as broadband speed, percentage of people online and number of subscriptions to broadband. The UK ranked fourth with a score of 8.75 and isn't that far from South Korea, a pioneer in technology that had a score of 8.93.

Countries with the best communications technology

This is quite a remarkable feat for the UK with countries like Denmark being named the world's most connected country and South Korea spending an average 27.7 hours on the internet a month. South Korea is also known for having the fastest internet connection speed with an average of 25Mb/ps, a speed ideal for it's national love of online gaming which is considered a professional sport.

A country with a reliable, fast internet speed that is well connected could be a huge attraction for many tech companies looking to open up support offices for Europe. With Microsoft and Amazon already planning to launch support centers in the UK for their cloud services we could potentially see more companies follow suit and create an influx of IT job opportunities in the UK.
