Programme Description

We are looking to expand the Project Team to enable the delivery of the next generation of Tactical Communication and Information Systems. TacSys (Tactical Systems Delivery Team) is responsible for the development, fielding and sustainment of a range of tactical CIS equipment and systems used in the joint Land Environment. The TacSys portfolio includes communications system itself, the application set the Common Battlefield Applications Toolset (ComBAT), and the Information systems.

Role Context

The GFA manager is accountable for the provision of GFA to support the Programme and to provide advice and guidance on GFA matters.

The GFA function is responsible for liaising with industry Project Managers & Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure that the correct assets are provided in line with the Programme's contract & facilitate the processes required to enable changes in the requirement to be actioned & recorded in line with current MOD procedures.

Role Description

*Participating in the negotiation of contracts, providing advice & direction on the provision and availability of GFA to industry partners.

*Participate in applying knowledge to each project with training sessions, on job support including planning / onboarding new projects.

*Obtain forecast of future GFA deliverables for each project and plan the supply of the GFA.

*Provide general advice and guidance to the Programme Head and management team on GFA matters.

*Facilitate the discretionary process to enable changes/ new requirements to be actioned.

*Accounting & tracking of all GFA supplied to all Suppliers. Maintain and update GFA tracker.

*Attend Project reviews and Stand-up meetings as necessary.

*Oversee the usage of all GFA to ensure efficient & effective use of all GFA assets across the Delivery Teams & Suppliers

*Arranging the provision of GFA if not available from stock & initiate mitigation plans where necessary.

*Return of GFA

*Disposal of GFA if applicable

Essential skills, knowledge, capabilities etc

*Operational experience and knowledge of Supply Chain & Asset Management processes, procedures, Demand & Supply Planning and tracking.

*Stakeholder collaboration and management (PMs, suppliers, technical SMEs and enabling functions such as commercial, logistics and finance teams)

*Effective risk and issue management, root cause identification, analysis & resolution.

*Pragmatic, pro-active and hands on approach

*Communication and negotiation

*Microsoft office proficiency

*Strong data analysis and root cause identification

*Evidence and fact-based approach
