Maximum 3 days per fortnight on MOD site at Corsham (post COVID-19) with remote working the rest of the time
The role is for a Test Automation Analyst who will build on existing automation within the programme to create, maintain, and then utilise a test framework. The framework will allow the programme to perform automated system integration, acceptance, and end-to-end testing in multi-component integrated environments across all phases of testing - SIT, UAT, NFT and OAT etc. The analyst will work with the test specialists to design and develop a reusable architecture for the test automation. The automation analyst will report to and will work closely with the Delivery Test Manager to align new innovations and thinking in the area of automation to realise the benefits of an automation environment for project test delivery.
Responsibilities:
§Ensure that the newly created automation framework is reusable and flexible to improve the robustness, re-usability, and maintainability of the automation test scripts.
§Ensure automation test environments are identified and maintained.
§Define and contribute to the Release Test Plan and Test stages to the identify automation capability.
§Create and maintain automated regression packs which can be run easily by non-automation specialists
§Work closely with the manual testers to ensure alignment and provide direction for automation scripting standards
§Participate in Programme Increment and Sprint Planning to plan and estimate testing effort required to assure a quality deliverable for testing in an agile environment.
§Plan, prepare and execute functional, integration, and regression testing scripts (manual and automation)
§Contribute to quality metrics across all testing activities.
§Actively contribute to the automation test process improvement
§Ensure test environments and test data requirements for test phases are available
§Liase with 3rd Parties and Suppliers to execute the testing activities required for the Integration testing phase
Key Strengths:
§To be able to defines, maintain, and promote the benefits of automation standards and procedures within other development methodologies i.e., agile, BDD, TDD.
§Ability to seamlessly integrate within an existing agile delivery team.
§Technically aware with an appreciation and understanding of automated and manual testing methodologies.
§Team Working, personal networking skills.
§Presentation skills; presence and credibility in front of customers.
§Works under pressure while remaining decisive.
§Adhere to process Documentation required for testing activities.
§Good understand DevOps environments and testing.
Previous experience and skillset:
§Proven experience of creating an automation framework from inception, not just maintaining an existing automation framework.
§Automation tooling and Continuous Integration. Working examples and exposure to Selenium, Selenium IDE, EggPlant, Java, Gherkin, Cucumber, JMeter, SoapUI, JSON API testing, version control tools.
§Azure Test Management, HP ALM, TFS or other test management toolsets.
§Methodologies: SAFe, Agile, DevOps.
§Automation of integration platforms, API and end-to-end user journeys.
§Exposure to Healthcare integration platforms - nice to have.
§ITSQB Foundation Level Certification.
