SC Cleared Linux Architect

Our client has a requirement for an SC cleared Linux Architect to act as a competent design authority. Red Hat Linux and KVM experience are essential.

Skills required:

*Proven track record of creating High Level Designs, Low Level Designs, BOM's and support documentation

*Proven track record of leading the delivery of Linux technical solutions through the design and build of Red Hat Linux VMs and Physical servers, including creation of Gold Builds and Hardening of Servers

*Experience of core Linux products including Satellite Server, Ansible Tower, Bit Bucket and Docker

*A proven track record of Linux scripting

*Track record of producing writing coherent, concise, and readable technical documentation

*Extensive experience of technology design and implementation policies and practices

*Provide 4th line support to projects and work directly with vendors through to successful fault resolution.

*Experience of matrix resource delivery organisations

Responsibilities:

* Complete responsibility for technical input to qualification and business approval meetings, designing larger more complex solutions.

* Shapes technical proposals to be commercially acceptable to the customer and may make solution/service trade-offs.

* Defines the approach to larger/more complex solution development and acceptance testing, controlling technical scope and the work of the design team in order to ensure an acceptable cost structure.

* Represents the company at customer forums, conferences, and professional bodies to build reputation in the market place.

* Establishes customer requirements for a solution building strong relationships and acting as a major influence in the customer choosing our services.

* Contributes to definition of customers' overall IT architecture, designing new solutions of significant size and complexity, and can manage the work of specialists contributing to the design and implementation.

* Shares knowledge with colleagues and makes useful additions to the company knowledge base.

The role requires a minimum of SC clearance and will be a mix of remote working and onsite work in Basingstoke. Contract length is initially 3 months with likely extensions.
