One of our clients are looking to hire a Safety Engineer on a temporary basis.

Duration - 5 months initially

Location - Home based with adhoc travel to Bristol sites

1.Vehicle Support Team (VST) supports the full fleet of in-service vehicles.

2.Light Weight Recovery Vehicle (LWRV) is an Urgent Capability Requirement.

3.Vehicle Support Team (VST) will meet requirement set by modifying four in-service platforms (JACKAL 2) via the PMETS PDS (Post Design Service) contract.

4.Resource is required to support from design, validation and verification and all associated activity to meet Initial Operating Capability (IOC) which is defined as one in theatre, with a crew trained and resourced to maintain the platform, operating with an approved safety case and one for training by February 23 and Full Operating Capability (FOC) as one in theatre and one for High readiness. Must include full integration of ECM and BOWMAN and support solution by April 23. Overall VST will deliver four recovery vehicles.

7.Safety Engineer - All associated Safety activity to deliver UCR from design through to delivery in theatre. Lead in Safety and Environmental Production (S&EP) on all safety matters relating to LWRV, raising where major policy and sensitive issues are involved. Ensure compliance with safety policy and standards, including compliance with various Defence Safety Authority standards and publication. Lead in the development of safety case and the development of clear, logical and convincing safety arguments in support of safety.

Due to the nature and urgency of this post, candidates holding or who have held high level security clearance in the past are most welcome to apply. Please note successful applicants will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment which can take up to a minimum 10 weeks.
