Software Developer - Outside IR35 - SC Cleared - Remote/Basingstoke

Working as a member of our Government Development team, the developer will be responsible for the full stack development, support and maintenance of bespoke customer applications and communication with the customer, internal stakeholders, users and management.

Key Tasks

*1st-, 2nd-, and 3rd-level end-user support, maintenance and development of a legacy system

*Support for, and assistance with, migration of the system to a new bespoke system

*Data manipulation either through the application or directly through SQL

*Researches, designs, develops, configures, integrates, tests and maintains existing and new business applications (UI) and/or information systems solutions including databases / webservices through integration of technical and business requirements

*Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

oCapture of business requirements through close collaboration with customers

oAnalysis of business requirements

oDevelopment of new solutions

oMaintain and support new and existing solutions; defect resolution and enhancements

oCreation of documentation

oTesting and release management

*Individual will use in-house developed tools, develop within agreed standards and design guidelines with close co-operation with the principal developer

*Demonstrate the ability to translate and formalise complex specifications in consultation with the principal developer

*Be able to work within an agile development team and be able to accommodate requirement changes.

*Individual to be self-motivated and own the end-to-end process

*To suggest improvements in processes and practices used

*To champion innovation and automation in TFS release pipeline

Required Skills

*C#, ASP.Net, Web-form, MVC 5, SOAP Web Services, WCF Services, Windows Service

*HTML, XML, JavaScript, JSON, CSS, JQuery

*Experience with writing code using modern development techniques including Agile, TDD, CI & CD

*MS IIS, Ms SQL 2012, Visual Studio and TFS development environments

*Experience in DevOps using TFS 2017 such as Automated Builds, Continuous Integration and Continuous Releases etc.

*Analysis of slow running queries and query optimisation

*Knowledge of cloud hosting technologies; AWS, Azure

oe.g. Loosely coupled architectures and containerisation

*Microsoft SQL Server (TSQL and database design)

*Knowledge of n-tier application architecture and design

oIncluding transformation activity between platforms such as on-premise to PaaS

*Understand & interpret business users requirements and assessment of LOE (Level of Effort)

*Experience of working in an agile development team

*Strong communication skills

*UK Government Security Clearance

Desirable Skills

*Knowledge of Service Management tools such as BMC Remedy
