My client is looking for an Accounting and Financial Control Manager to be based in Bristol for an initial 12 month contract with the potential to extend.

This role is inside of IR35.

Working on the Finance Transformation Programm, in support of the migration to a new SAP Finance System. Phase 1 covers the migration of management and statutory reporting from the legacy systems to a new general ledger on SAP. Phase 2 will focus on changes to sub-ledgers (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Fixed Assets), project accounting and procurement activities.

The programme team define the activities which need to be carried out by the Finance transformation teams within each Business Unit. This role will support the Corporate Units Finance Transformation lead in delivering the requirements for successful migration and reconciliation of data from legacy source systems to new SAP system as well provide support in implementing new finance reporting processes across Corporate Units Finance. The individual will work closely with CU Finance teams in seeking their input on data records and approval of actions required to cleanse the data ahead of migration to the new system as well as gaining their insight on differences arising from the reconciliation between the 2 systems.

Key activities include:

*Reconciliation of period end results for Corporate Unit between Legacy ledger and SAP ledger, producing the required "Bridge" files explaining the key reconciling differences and identifying remaining actions needed to address differences e.g. mapping changes, journal corrections

*Data cleanse activity with regard to Fixed Assets records and Assets under construction (AUC). Lead on the cleansing of source data, approve cleansing actions, execute business cleansing with BT Tech App SME support, validate cleansing actions carried out in source systems

*Reconciliation of Fixed Assets and AUC records in the sub-ledger data in source system with post-load data in SAP based on reconciliation instructions from the MFB programme team

*Support CU Transformation Lead in rolling out new reporting & accounting processes across CU Finance teams e.g. Fixed Asset accounting, Project accounting

*Engage with various members of MFB programme team including weekly check in meetings to discuss progress on activities, flag issues & seek guidance, share learnings

*Produce and submit tracker reports into MFB programme which measure performance and outcomes of activities v programme milestone

Skills Required:

*Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)

*Excellent excel skills which will be put to use in manipulating, analysing & comparing vast amounts of data records and summarising outputs and findings

*Strong Analytical and Reasoning skills

*Effective communicator and strong inter-personal skills

*Must be able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines

*Knowledge of SAP would be beneficial and/or experience of implementing new finance systems and processes
