PROJECT MANAGER - PUBLIC SECTOR PROCUREMENT EXPERIENCE

ASAP START DATE

£500 PER DAY

Key Responsibilities

1.Manage projects throughout their lifecycle in accordance with our Change framework, to deliver projects to time, cost and quality, measured by agreed success criteria.

2.Lead collaborative and dynamic planning, ensuring clarity of scope and deliverables, across both internal teams and external suppliers.

3.Build and maintain teams to achieve the project aims, ensuring they are motivated, collaborating and focused what is most important to the delivery of products and services

4.Identify obstacles and help the team to overcome them, managing risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies.

5.Encourage and facilitate continuous improvement of the project delivery team

6.Manage governance arrangements for projects, ensuring that design, project and programme governance and that proportionate project documentation produced to a high quality.

7.Manage stakeholder relationships at all levels to secure commitment and support both for the project and to promptly address issues and escalations.

8.Manage regular and impactful reporting to all relevant stakeholders to communicate progress, barriers/constraints and lessons learnt, using formats and a level of detail appropriate to the audience.

Experience - essential:

*Experience of delivering projects & products to time, cost and quality in an IT-enabled or transformational environment

*Experience of agile and PRINCE2 project management methodologies

*Experience of leading and managing project/delivery teams

*Experience of working within a complex, public sector or regulatory environment

Experience - desirable

*Project managing Public Sector Procurement and outcome Implementation

*Managing projects using Project Online, Microsoft Project or similar tool?

*Experience of managing budgets and cost benefit cases

*Agile or Prince 2 (Practitioner level) accredited or equivalent or equivalent qualification

*Using Microsoft Office suite to a high standard and spearheading working smarter with modern technologies.

*Planning. You understand the environment and can prioritise the most important or highest value tasks. You can use use data to inform planning. You can manage complex internal and external dependencies. You can provide delivery confidence. You can remove blockers or impediments that affect plans and can develop a plan for difficult situations. You ensure that teams plan appropriately for their own capacity. (Relevant skill level: practitioner).

*Commercial management. You can act as the point of contact for contracted suppliers. You understand appropriate internal contacts and processes within a government department. You know how and when third parties should be brought in to support on the required work. (Relevant skill level: working)

*Life-cycle perspective. You recognise when to move from one stage of a product life cycle to another. You can ensure the team is working towards the appropriate service standards for the relevant phase. You can manage delivery products and services at different phases. (Relevant skill level: working)

*Making a process work. You can identify and challenge organisational processes of increasing complexity and those processes that are unnecessarily complicated. You can add value and can coach the organisation to inspect and adapt processes. You know how to guide teams through the implementation of a new process. (Relevant skill level: expert)

Ways of working

This is a home/remote based role working with operational and project teams who are also working from home. We are making use of various technologies to communicate, but all activity will need to be managed remotely. The successful candidate will be inducted into the role remotely. The successful candidate will need access to a device (laptop or desktop) and a working environment that will allow them to work safely and effectively remotely
