Power BI Developer and Reporting Officer

My client has a specialist requirement for dedicated reporting mechanisms to track individual projects in a programme and to provide sufficient overview support for the Senior Responsible Owner and Programme Board.

The Programme is investing in Microsoft Power BI to collect and collate data from a range of project controls systems currently in place and use it to provide interactive dashboard views and insights to project progress.

Currently, using data sets from Xactium, Oracle Primavera P6 and in-house finance systems. We now have a requirement for a Business Intelligence Developer and Reporting Officer to provide development support to the Project Controls and Reporting Lead in enactive the step change required to raise the reporting outputs to the levels required for a £1.5bn investment programme.

As Development Lead, you will be inextricably tied to the success of the programme. You will work for the Reporting Lead to detail technical processes to bring information from all control systems together and directly influence the delivery of the project. This role will suit someone who is passionate about information/data and how it can provide links between data sets and how it can be visualised using BI tools to provide officials with useful intelligence and insight. You will be able to provide examples of work already completed, be sufficiently proficient in DAX and R.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* To deliver the reporting vision

* To engage with stakeholders (EPMO and SEPMO) to ensure key metrics are collected

* To engage with Board and potentially Delivery Authority on their reporting requirements and how they may be better met with BI tools

* To present to external colleagues the benefits of using BI tools for programme level reporting

* To be the voice of change in Reporting and BI.

QUALIFICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE Essential:

* Experience in a large infrastructure or construction programme environment

* A recognised Project or Programme Management qualification

* Power BI experience

* DAX and R scripting

* Excellent MS Excel experience

* Reporting and project controls experience
