ROLE PROFILE
ROLE SUMMARY:
To assist and support the maintenance of standards for programme/project management. Includes the sharing of best practice as well as the application of programme/project procedures, tools and techniques in order to standardise methodologies and realise economies. Provides support and assistance on the programme/project and acts as a source of programme/project information and metrics.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES, OUTPUTS & DELIVERABLES:
Summary;
*Support the development of key project artefacts (RAID, Resource plan, reporting, finances)
*Meeting and workshop support
*Project Board administration
*Reporting
*Travel to London is required
Responsibilities;
*Assist and maintain appropriate systems to enable effective planning and scheduling.
*Assist in maintaining programme/project controls and in producing programme/project reports.
*Responsible for programme/project file management, using robust version control. Organise key programme/project meetings and provide secretariat report.
*Assist with maintaining the stakeholder log for internal and external stakeholders, act as the focal point for programme/project responses to external requests for information.
*Assist with the monitoring of programme/project spend and contribute to the compilation of budgets. Maintain accurate asset registers for the programme/project.
*Assist with the maintenance of risk and issue logs, escalating as appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Prince 2 preferred but not essential.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Previous experience in a Project support role or portfolio office role is essential.
Good understanding of project or programme management methodologies, tools and techniques including: requirements management, planning, scheduling, resource management, risk and issue management, quality management, business change and implementation, governance, stakeholder engagement, assurance, business case development, asset allocation and benefits management.
Good understanding of the process to gain financial approval for project costs and ability to work with commercial and financial colleagues to monitor spend against contracts.
Familiarity with external applicable quality standards.
Understanding of the need to maintain a practical and pragmatic approach to standards compliance.
Good understanding of information management.
Good interpersonal skills.
Collaboration skills, establishing and developing productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Problem solving skills; recognising, anticipating and effectively dealing with existing or potential conflicts at an individual, team or strategic level.
Written and oral communications skills.
Flexibility and ability to work to deadlines. Ability to work in an environment of uncertainty and continual change.
Proven track record of applying programme/project procedures, tools and techniques in order to standardise methodologies.
Experience of analysing information from a range of sources.
Experience of planning.
