WIRELESS NETWORK ENGINEER

6 MONTH + CONTRACT

Responsible for the design and development of voice, video, radio-frequency, Wireless and/or data communications networks.

*Pre-position S4048-ON distribution switches and the S3148P access switches based on switch methodology provided by client to support the WAPs

*Install optics and patch cabling necessary to complete distribution inter connection for each enclave

*Inventory and asset tag devices

*Plans network layouts and configures systems to user environments.

*Analyzes network topologies and traffic and capacity requirements.

*Supports the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.

*May provide technical support and troubleshooting to users.

*May require Installation of CAT6 patch cabling to support the Access Points (AP) Power over Ethernet (POE) requirements with patch cables installed between the termination end to the AP and the patch panel to the POE switch. Participates in special projects as required.

*Interfaces with external agencies and network communications providers to engineer, implement, and troubleshoot network cross-connectivity.

*Oversees security scans and security guidance implementation for networks in accordance with Information Assurance and Security practices.

*Oversees the production and update of technical diagrams and documentation of networks.

*Install copper cabling as needed for WAP installation and connectivity, and ensure cable configurations/standards/colouring/markings

*Demands positive responsiveness to customer requirements, priorities and mission accomplishment.

*The Contractor provide active wireless survey equipment to measure WAP signal strength and determine WAP locations. Survey results output in iBwave compatible format.

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

10-15 years of directly related experience in network analysis and design.

*CCNP certification required. CCIE certification and Voice specialization preferred.

*Must be able to achieve Security+ CE Certification (or equivalent) within 90 days of hire and ITIL V3 Foundation within six months of hire.

*Advanced knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network analysis, design, implementation, and troubleshooting.

*Advanced knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software.

*Advanced knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), VoIP communications, and VTC communications
