My client is looking for a Head of Information Security Management to join a strategic client based in Oxford.

Four direct reports initially (indicative team size of 15 staff)

- Head of Information Management

- Networks and Security Manager

- Client Device Development Manager

- Cyber Security Officer (apprenticeship position)

Experience required for post:

Substantial practical experience at a senior level of information security management in a large complex organisation.

Experience in working with senior management and stakeholders to ensure successful change programmes.

Practical experience in the leadership and management of staff, both IT and non-IT.

Proven experience of managing the challenges involved in a complex IT environment, resolving complex issues, meeting conflicting demands and ensuring you can demonstrate you have the knowledge of the latest IT thinking and threat modelling methods.

Proven experience as a senior manager working collaboratively with customers and IT teams to deliver complex services

Solid understanding of IT services and solutions including information security management

Proven experience of managing teams to

successfully implement IT and business solutions

Experience of using information security management services

Experience of managing security suppliers

Experience of implementing and / or maintaining a recognised Security framework such as ISO27001 or Cyber Essentials Plus

A customer-orientated approach to service delivery and to continuous process improvement

Awareness of departmental and institutional relationships and an ability to work across teams and activities

An appropriate manner in dealing with senior managers, staff, students, visitors, clients and other contacts

Good communications skills, interpersonal

skills, negotiating skills, organisational skills, presentation skills

Digital leadership skills - capable of empowering and leading an IT team to meet business and information security management goals

Thrives on change and shows ability to motivate staff and develop team working

Ability to work calmly and systematically in a fast-moving IT environment, keep pace with latest thinking, to prioritise work and to meet agreed deadlines

Flexible and adaptable - capable of changing direction where required and showing flexibility to meet new demands

Creative thinking - able to look at alternatives and consider new ways of thinking to problem solve.

Qualifications required for post: University degree or equivalent preferably in Computer Science or Business Administration.

Evidence of Continuing Professional Development and a relevant professional qualification.
