SC Cleared Safety Engineer

Bristol based, with occasional travel to Cambridge

My defence client is looking for a SC Cleared Safety Engineer in Bristol on a 6 month contract.

Role Overview:

Following the extension of the C-130J Out of Service date from 2022 to 2035, there has been a significant and urgent increase in the number of modifications required to maintain airworthiness, capability and civil regulatory compliance.

A Safety Engineer is required to assess the hazards associated with these modifications to support the definition of the aircraft safety. Incumbent will report to the C-130J the Airworthiness and Safety manager and the New Capability Safety Manager. The following experience is therefore required:

* Large aircraft experience;

* Safety and Airworthiness;

* Hazard Log Management;

* Hazard Identification and Analysis;

* An understanding of the Certification, Safety, Security and Environmental: Legislative and Regulatory Compliance;

* An understanding of Safety Case Reports / Safety Assessments / Equipment Safety Assessments

Due to the nature and urgency of this post, candidates holding or who have held high level security clearance in the past are most welcome to apply. Please note successful applicants will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment which can take up to a minimum 18 weeks.
