My client is looking for a Technical Architect to assist on an initial 6 months contract based in Bristol.

Overview of the role:

The candidate will take responsibility for ensuring that a cohesive and inclusive approach is followed for the delivery of new campus digital capabilities.

The Architect will use and develop existing Principles and Standards to guide the selection and implementation of new products and capabilities.

The Architect will take a lead in both developing requirements and implementation plans for the Digital Infrastructure and Solution Architectures required by various programmes.

They will work with a range of external consultants, building Architects and Project Managers, to ensure that digital and IT requirements (e.g. networking spaces, MEP) are included 'from the ground up', in-line with the appropriate RIBA stages of building design.

Essential skills/experience:

* Evidence based approach to proposed architecture changes. The architect should be viewed as a trusted partner in the enterprise by the IT organization, the clients they serve, and various levels of University management.

* Must possess an extensive technical breadth through experience in the IT industry. This breadth should cover multiple areas of digital/smart infrastructure including API driven integration approaches and experience of basic network and service design.

* Proficient in the techniques that go into producing designs of complex systems, including requirements discovery and analysis, identification of solution alternatives and their assessment, technology selection, and architecture design.

* Must have experience with all aspects of a project from design through development, testing, implementation, and production.

Architect is not directly responsible for the day to day operation of any individual systems, but they take an overarching view of multiple technology layers including:

* Audio Visual design and provision

* Networking/Wireless capabilities in physical spaces

* Digital Security

* Telecoms provision

* Internet of Things/Sensor

* Building Management Systems Infrastructure

* Intelligent Buildings/Campus capabilities

Daily rate £450 per day
