A career in our Investigative Analytics practice, within Forensics Technology services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients protect their business in today's evolving landscape by applying advanced and strategic approaches to information management. We focus on assisting organisations manage vast amounts of electronic data and navigate the legal and business processes demanded by critical events which includes litigation, regulatory requests and internal investigations.
Our team helps design and build investigation support systems for our clients that work with, review, and provide insights of the data under investigation without the need for complex data analysis skills and without the risk of damaging the underlying evidence.
About the team
The Know Your Data team is a growing team within Digital & Forensic Investigations at PwC. We use data discovery technology to analyse file servers, endpoints (such as laptops and desktops) and other data repositories to help clients know what data they have, where it is, and who can access it. Our client offerings focus around three key areas helping clients comply with regulation such as GDPR by ensuring personally identifiable information is stored securely and not for longer than is necessary, ensuring that intellectual property is not stored in areas or on devices where it should not be, and, finally, helping clients reduce the data they store which is out of compliance with their retention policy. Once we find non-compliant data we then help clients remediate it in order to reduce their risks.
You will have an understanding of file systems and/or computers and will be experienced in using technology to analyse file metadata and content. You will be in a client facing role which is partly technical and partly business consulting. You will manage members of our team and engage directly with our clients' teams, solving their business problems by using data discovery technology to help them understand where their data is, who has access to it, and what it contains. You will help clients understand the risks that data poses at a file level to them and how we as a team can help them identify and mitigate those risks.
You will manage the design and development of data discovery/search rules (including regular expressions) and machine learning algorithms for clients, working with cutting-edge software to help them understand their risks and to solve their problems, and developing end to end data discovery workflows that meet their needs through the use of technology and bespoke business processes.
