Data Architect

The client is looking for an experienced Data Architect with a broad range of data-oriented skills and experience, which can be applied throughout the design and development process and at various points in the solution architecture (ie not just at the database), including:

*Experience in analysing the Business Domain, to identify and model the Business Entities, their attributes and relationships in a conceptual data-model, which can be used by Front End developers, middle-tier/service developers, API and service interface developers and database developers

*Experience in designing logical data-models (derived from the conceptual data-models), applicable to various aspects of a solution architecture, including API/service interface messages and events and for persistence in databases (relational and non-relational)

*Experience in designing physical data-models (derived from the logical data-models), applicable to various products and technologies used to implement a solution architecture, including API/service interfaces (eg REST, postgREST, JSON, XML), Relational database schemas and NoSQL database schemas. A good understanding of the technical trade-offs and best practices applicable to each technology.

*Stakeholder management

*Experience working inside already established wider data models and iterating updates

*Experience with Architectural frameworks such as TOGAF and Architectural tools such as EA for modelling

*Experience in Agile delivery projects

*A clear definition of which application components in the landscape will serve as the system of record or reference for enterprise master data

*Clearly understand how data entities are utilised by business functions, processes, and services

*Clearly understand how and where enterprise data entities are created, stored, transported, and reported

Additional beneficial skills include:

*Knowledge of reporting and analytics tools and the design of universes/user views to expose data to various user groups

*Knowledge of the features and application of the main RDBS products (eg Postgres, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server)

*Knowledge of the features and application of the main NoSQL products (eg MongoDB)

*Knowledge of AWS database services (RDS, DynamoDB)
