The purpose of the post is to:
1.Examine ways of making efficiency savings within the DIS function particularly in terms of the PC/Laptop estate, mobile phone estate, software licencing and general DIS telecommunications infrastructure
2.Re-engineer existing processes and procedures and analysis of business data.
3.Production of appropriate business cases presentation to senior offices leading to implementation of new services.
The successful candidate will have:
*Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and customer care skills;
*Technical experience in relation to ICT infrastructures and provision of ICT services.
*The ability to exercise initiative in all areas of work and be able to work in a detailed and methodical manner;
*The ability to prioritise own workload and work quickly and accurately to exacting deadlines;
*The ability to organise, present and publish information effectively;
*A flexible and responsive approach to changing circumstances in the work environment;
*The ability to use a range of modern office software effectively (e.g. Word, Access, Excel, SharePoint);
*An awareness of project management principles;
*Experience of working in a large department, with multiple functions (preferably within the ICT area).
*Experience of following laid down processes and working to quality standards
*Creative approach to identifying solutions
*Can do, will do customer focussed attitude
*Appreciation of the work required to maintain a service improvement culture.
Specific duties include:-
*Working with technical ICT staff, technical and non-technical customer representatives and general users of ICT to identify and realise savings and efficiencies ensuring that an effective audit trail is maintained throughout.
*Creating and maintaining an electronic database of ICT specific product/licencing information.
*Maintaining and updating service ICT component information.
*Production of suitable business case documents outlining proposals which include input by various stakeholder groups
*Presenting and communicating management information as required which will include publishing on Intranet and SharePoint sites.
*Using available resources to gain an up to date knowledge of any relevant IT field or subject.
*Providing excellent customer service, including technical advice and guidance on all matters bearing on the successful use of ICT products and services.
*Helping customers to clarify their service requirements.
