CNC Machinist-Precision Engineering & Testing

Oxfordshire-Commutable from Abingdon, Harwell, Newbury, Oxford, Wantage, Didcot

£28-30K plus overtime, annual bonus, flexitime, Pension (matched up to 7.5%), Private Medical, 25 days holiday

Hours are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday with a degree of flexitime

Are you a CNC Machinist/Technician/Engineer from a test/R & D/precision Engineering background, looking for a very interesting and challenging role with a thriving global business within the materials industry? The role is with a global leader in their market and are investing heavily in both staff and equipment.

This position offers the opportunity to play a huge part in the growth and success of the site, with future career opportunities available

The position is based in the Precision Testing team and will help with testing of materials used in the production process.

Therefore tasks will include:

* Use advanced measuring techniques to determine level of wear and produce test inserts to micron accuracy.

* Use, problem-solve and develop test instrumentation such as force measurement.

* Use inspection equipment such as vernier gauges, micrometers and surface finish instrumentation. Inspect wear scars and tool damage using optical microscopes.

* Monitor machine condition and behaviour, conduct maintenance and support in breakdown

To apply you should have

1.Academic/working background in a manufacturing, test, R & D or industrial Engineering environment

2.CNC Machining experience including setting/operating lathes

3.Experience in at least one precision machining process
