Lead Developer, Python An experienced Python Developer is required to take on the position of Lead Developer / Development Team Lead, helping to build and lead a small, talented team to work on a number of complex mathematical problems.  Developing software, applications and tools, to drive efficiency, automate workflows and tasks, the Lead Developer / Development Team Lead will be able to see the tangible results of their work, as they provide departments across the business with the software and solutions they need to work as effectively as possible.The RoleA passionate, Agile-focused Head of Development has been appointed, to build a team to deliver high-quality, fit-for-purpose software, and they have recently partnered with University College London to construct a statistical model to be at the heart of one of their core applications.  Doing some exciting work with algorithms and GIS technologies, adopting and introducing DevOps tools and even working with Google Street View-type technology, it really is a surprisingly fascinating place to be working just now!The CompanyThe Lead Developer / Development Team Lead will be joining one of the UK's most exciting ISPs, at the forefront of fibre technology.  Privately-funded and with heavy investment, they are doing some amazing things!  Rapid growth has seen them move from 30 to 200 employees in the past two years, and 2018 is already proving to be an exciting year for them!What Experience do I need?My client is seeking a Lead Developer with experience of hands-on, full stack development, who is passionate about building quality software, through efficient, concise and scaleable code.  Whilst you're likely to have technical knowledge across a broad range of technologies, key areas for the Lead Developer /Development Team Lead include:

'€¢Development of software, applications and tools, using Python, as well as perhaps, C++ or Java'€¢Leadership experience, with the ability to guide, direct and mentor a development team'€¢My client appreciates the value of Agile development frameworks, so you should be comfortable in an Agile environment'€¢Experience of complex problem-solving and working to develop and optimise algorithms'€¢Database knowledge, ideally PostgreSQL'€¢Any experience with GIS and/or an understanding of geospatial/geographical concepts would be beneficial '€¢Any experience or interest in DevOps tools and techniques would also be advantageous.
