Service Implementation Analyst - Initial 6 months - Bristol
Service Implementation Analyst required to join a multinational telecommunications company based in Bristol on an initial 3-month contract with the view to extend.
Role Purpose
The primary purpose of the Service Introduction team is to act as a 'gatekeeper' to ensure that new technology and services are introduced and decommissioned in a co-ordinated and supportable way in order to minimise the potential impact to the customers and IT network.
Key Responsibilities:
* Attend relevant Project Fora to identify key projects, system enhancements, new products and services that require support to land safely in Operations. Produce look ahead report.
* Collate and manage Operational and Non Functional requirements such as sourcing, funding and scheduling of training to meet business needs; production of Operational Support Model and gathering alarm and monitoring requirements through delivery and to acceptance
* Deliver effective evaluation and agreement of solutions and services between design, build, operational and support areas
* Maintain detailed operation plans and liaise proactively with affected parties to ensure that delays, risks or issues are escalated and resolved in a timely and effective manner. Produce appropriate reports to communicate operational readiness to Stakeholders.
* Lead activities such as infrastructure implementation, in-live testing, migration planning, connectivity design reviews, back-out and contingency plans to ensure the effective delivery of quality, stable, resilient and supportable services and platforms to the operational areas
* Proactively liaise with stakeholders both internal and external to the projects, ensuring standard framework and best practise methodologies are used at all times
* To operate in a politically detached manner when assessing system or service problems, so that upon completion, feedback can be given to senior management objectively.
* Ability to multi-task - delivering multiple projects, at various project stages, concurrently without impacting their time to deploy
* Communicate clearly and logically to avoid misunderstandings, particularly during high stress situations e.g. risky and complex deployments
* Challenge others, at all levels, to ensure all operational concerns are fully considered when making decisions
Key Skills
* A good understanding of mobile telecommunications networks, equipment technologies and services
* Experience of senior level communication and managing the expectations of internal customers
* Well-developed technical skills in both Networks and IS/IT environments
* Experience of working with cross functional teams
* Ability to handle a range of projects concurrently and manage in a fast moving environment
* Experience of delivering large and complex projects
* Experience of using MS Word, Excel and Project
* Excellent planning, organisational and communication skills
* Good knowledge of telecommunications and IT operating procedures
* Ability to handle a range of projects and manage in a fast changing environment
* Good communication skills and an ability to handle conflict situations
* Commercially aware, with an understanding of matters relevant to the wider business
Desirable Skills
* Experience in a high-profile project / solution delivery role
* Extensive business and risk analysis experience
* A good understanding of mobile network infrastructure
* The knowledge to liaise with technical design and deployment teams in an advisory capacity
* A Project Management Methodology certification (e.g. PRINCE2, APM) would be advantageous
