Role: Release Manager

Location: Osterley

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 3-6 months

Key Responsibilities:

Accountable for the Release Process and Plans:

Working with the Scrum & external teams to identify all development & test tasks required to support the release

Identifying and tracking all dependencies for a release

Identifying, mitigating and communicating all risks/issues

Manage all release defects

Communicate regular updates to line management and key stakeholders on progress.

Host daily release meeting clearly communicating and tracking release progress.

Perform software configuration management activities.

Help establish best practices for automated build, CI and deployment

Create & improve Release processes and documentation.

Composition of Business Release Notes and check the integrity of the Deployment guides.

Improving the Release Process and Code Branching strategy to help with releases and hotfixes.

Provide support for production deployments and troubleshooting issues.

Report effectively on the progress, and escalate any issues in a considered and timely manner

Requirements/ Skills

More than 5 years of experience in Release Management.

Excellent people skills - can work with a diverse range of personalities

Excellent communication skills -Clear written and verbal communication, leave no-one in the dark

Excellent time management & organisational skills - ability to manage multiple projects & resources simultaneously

Exceptional planning skills - being able to forward plan multiple releases, platforms & territories

Experience working across multiple stakeholder with different expectations and understanding of issues

Experience coordinating trials and go live activities including operational acceptance criteria / checklists.

Manages risks and dependencies that affects release scope / schedule & quality

Experience of attending / representing releases at regular CAB meetings

Proficient in using Jira and Source code management tools.
