I am recruiting a Senior Marine Systems Engineer to work for a FTSE 250 Engineering Support Services Organisation in Bristol. This role functions within their Marine and Technology Division, which provides vital engineering services to key clients, such as the Royal Navy.

You will undertake complex engineering investigations of technical projects, interpret customer requirements, and act as the focal point in addressing issues and risks associated with marine systems design intent. This will include proposing and providing technical advice and recommendations.

* Carry out complicated technical investigations and analyses, including evaluation and selection of technical options, preparing reports with recommended courses of action as required by the Chief Engineers.

* Evaluate complex engineering technical issues and, through the application of systems engineering principles, make technical recommendations to the Chief Engineers through the provision of authoritative evidence that demonstrates that the system design intent has been achieved.

* Conduct advanced level impact assessments of proposed changes to maintenance, technical documentation and broader Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) functions of in-scope Marine Systems.

* Support design and safety reviews in order to identify technical and safety risks.

* To liaise with all Technical Services functions to ensure that cross-system integration issues and safety aspects of technical tasks are addressed.

* Act as a mentor for junior engineering staff and engage with line management for personal development of the engineering cadre.

* Provide management information as required.

* Identify opportunities for improvements to the service and improvements to the marine systems design baseline.

* Comply with the Company safety rules and regulations or local procedures and any Company initiatives to improve safety.

Required Experience

* A minimum of an HND in an engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.

* Experience of the engineering design or support of complex engineering systems or equipment, ideally Naval.

* Ideally a Chartered Engineer or working towards that status. Support will be available to assist achieving the requirements for Chartership.

* A proven ability to work in a collaborative manner across a multi-disciplinary team and stakeholders.
