Compliance Engineer - 6 Month Contract - NW

My Client in the North West of England is a complex Medical Device manufacturer, world renowned and currently on the lookout for a Safety/Compliance Engineer for an initial 3/6 month contract at their site.You will need experience with the BS EN 61010 / 60950 Standards - safety requirements for electrical equipment for measurement, control and laboratory use and be able to advise designers on site of whether equipment will pass necessary tests.To provide support to the design teams to ensure that new products meet safety, EMC, medical and keep abreast of changes to international regulatory requirements that may affect products.

'€¢Ensure new products comply with international regulations, and review existing products to ensure continued compliance.'€¢Advise design/development engineers on best practice to ensure products pass certification tests promptly.'€¢Chair safety reviews and other regulatory reviews to ensure consistency between projects.'€¢Manage third-party test houses and certification bodies to ensure prompt completion of testing project'€¢Manage & conduct internal pre-compliance testing.

You will also have most of the below:

'€¢Degree in engineering or science, or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience'€¢Proven effective experience in development of high-technology products.'€¢Good understanding of relevant regulatory requirements (e.g. LVD, EMC, NRTL, FCC, ROHS, WEEE) and standards (e.g. 61010, 60950, 61326).'€¢Excellent communication, analysis and decision-making skills.'€¢Ability to interact and contribute in a team environment
