Sybase DBA:

A new and exciting opportunity as a Sybase DBA has been made available to join one of the UK's largest investment banks. This is a permanent position based in Canary Wharf in London city. In this role you will work on the firms SAP RDBMA infrastructure. This role requires a broad knowledge of SAP (Sybase) ASE databases products and a track record of building infrastructure required to support the environment.

As a Sybase DBA you will you primarily be developing database infrastructure to support SAP ASE and replication server. As the successful candidate you will be working on various database related infrastructure / automation projects that will require the development and maintenance of modules/scripts using Perl/Ksh. As the Sybase DBA you will be responsible for development unit level testing and integration testing.

The successful Sybase DBA you will posses a good ASE Database Administration skill-set. You will have a history of delivering Perl/Python based solutions for large scale mission critical production infrastructures as well as strong Unix shell scripting (Korn shell in particular). Experience of revision control systems. Projects will use GIT and RCS but knowledge of other control systems will be a benefit.
