About the Team:

The Fraud & Technical Security team delivers a diverse range of security services. Expertise spans the disciplines of operational leadership, victim support, fraud management, information security, customer privacy, supplier governance & network security. The operating model blends direct support for customers and a portfolio approach to business change and security design, evenly balanced against our strategy of Customer Led Mobile First.

Your Role:

We`re after someone that has the gravitas and leadership capability to work closely with the Government on all aspects of technical security. Excitingly you`ll also be responsible for defining and developing the technical security model for 5G. We`re on the look-out for a Security expert that has the senior leadership experience within a technology domain.

Responsibilities:

-Build and maintain positive relationships with Government departments to minimise any impact on Telefonica UK
-Undertake security reviews of all products, services and upgrades that impact customer privacy or security within the telephony networks
-Review all projects and maintenance activities to ensure no access to customer call usage or location data is possible by third parties
-Minimise any impact: technical, process or financial in delivering the wishes of government
-Ensure that faults within all government facing systems are dealt with within agreed timescales
-Build and maintain positive relationships with other teams across the wider UK business and other Telefonica Operating businesses
-Build and maintain positive relationships with Telefonica UK regulatory and legal team to agree approach to developments in the UK regulatory framework
-Maintain control of SIM card and all authentication technologies within Telefonica UK

Skills & experience:

- Technical Leadership experience
- Experience in Technology Security
- Ideally knowledge of cellular technologies and their relationship with data security and interception regulations (HLR, MSC,GSM)
-Excellent understanding of privacy implications of network standard
-Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build relationships with people of all levels within the business and be a competent negotiator at a senior level with Government and regulators
-Ability to interact and network with senior government employees and outside industry, with sufficient gravitas to maintain a strong image of the O2 and Telefonica brands
-Excellent commercial and financial awareness
- Ideally knowledge of the relevant telecommunication legislation and oversight organisations such as IOCCA and ICO
-Ability to communicate technical risks to non-technical business staff, of all levels including board level, in a language they understand
-Good understanding of an operational and service delivery organisation
-Understanding of the sensitivity of the role and prepared to submit to or already possess security vetting to DV level or beyond if deemed necessaryGrade: PCGS
