A Content Engineer is needed to work with our global client based in Woking. The content Engineer will have a fantastic opportunity to be a part of an ambitious team helping to create new publications. This Content Engineer roll will be based in Woking and is paying a day rate up to £300 for an 11 month contract.

Summary of the role of the Content Engineer:

           The main function of the Content Engineer is to Develop and design interface, front pages, and the tools to navigate on the systems.

           The Content Engineer will be responsible for creating new publications, using in-house tools and web based technologies.

Essential skills of the Content Engineer:

           Must have an interest in the web and internet technologies.

           XSLT 1.0 skills essential; XSLT 2.0 skills an advantage.

           Good IT skills, with proven XML knowledge.

           Good understanding of languages and tools used for processing XML, especially XSLT and Schematron and their appropriate applications.

           Practical experience of converting XML to multiple formats such as Word and PDF - preferred

The Content Engineer may also have:

           Familiarity with: regression, UAT and QA testing processes and applications, such as XSPEC, JUNIT, XML differencing and Jenkins.

           Knowledge of online publishing and supporting online functionality through mark-up.

           Exposure to/understanding of MarkLogic.

           Python/Xquery skills preferable, but not essential.

           Practical experience of converting XML to multiple formats such as Word and PDF.

           Understanding of Project and Code Management program MS TFS.

Job Responsibilities of the Content Engineer:

           Develops and designs interface, front pages, and the tools to navigate on the website.

           Performs unit testing at the page level. Sets code standards and leads code reviews.

           Reviews specifications and provides time estimates on the development of projects and features.

           Prioritises projects and deliverables.
