Full time, part-time and flexible working patterns will be considered.

Your skills will keep us ahead of the curve.

And your knowledge will protect customers from any curveballs.

You always want to improve, develop and evolve - both yourself, and tech. And it’s this kind of proactive, forward-thinking attitude that we need at HMGCC. It means you’ll keep us ahead of the curve - all while designing secure communications systems for HM Government in the UK and abroad.

The role

With a knack for developing imaginative solutions, you’ll work on complex projects and solve unique software problems. As our Senior Software Developer, you’ll lead our technical direction - pushing the boundaries and keeping us ahead of the curve. You’ll use your impressive expertise and sound judgement to decide on the most effective platforms, languages and technologies to use. Much of the role will see you developing excellent customer relationships to ensure our solutions are properly embedded. And an inspirational individual, you’ll champion the best ways of working and share your knowledge with junior developers.

Your profile

You’ll have previous experience of taking a lead role in a software development team.

You’ll have practical knowledge of software engineering, including requirements capture, system analysis and design for test.

You’ll have experience in application and kernel development for one or more of: Windows, Linux, macOS or Android.

You’ll be proficient in one or more of: C, C++, C#, Java or Python.

While not essential, knowledge of networking and communications, along with experience in email protocols would be a huge advantage. And, degree-educated, your knowledge of data integrity and information assurance would make you stand out from other developers.

Rewards

In return, we’ll provide all the training you need to develop your skills. And you’ll get a great rewards package that includes flexible hours and a welcoming workplace.
