Infrastructure Engineer - 12 month contract with possible extension - Edinburgh or Inverness £250 - £275 per day (Outside IR35)

The Company

Spring Technology's public sector client is currently looking to hire an experienced Infrastructure Systems Engineer to join a high performing team and work on an enterprise system set up and configuration project.

The Role:

Infrastructure Systems Engineer

In this fantastic role you will work closely with the Project Team acting as subject matter expert in systems, server and storage infrastructure. You will make technical recommendations, establish a robust DR strategy and testing plan as well as providing high level server administration expertise.

Essential Experience

*Experienced technical background supporting and maintaining network, server and SAN storage systems.

*Experience with configuring and maintaining Windows Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS and IIS.

*Experience of implementing and managing data back-up solutions and an understanding of DR strategies.

*Experience with Windows and Linux Server administration.

*Project delivery experience

*Knowledge of Enterprise technologies including IT management and monitoring tools.

*An understanding of public, private and hybrid cloud technologies.

*Planning, communication skills and troubleshooting skills

Desirable Skills

*Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline, relevant professional ICT certifications

*An understanding of virtualisation technologies and experience supporting virtual servers

*An understanding of enterprise security standards

*Experience of deploying RDS and cloud VDI solutions

*Knowledge of ITIL and industry best practice
