Is it a role for you?

You'll be supporting their head of web development in the delivery of day to day development tasks. You'll also be on hand to provide technical support to clients and colleagues. In addition, the role involves working with their external web hosting company to manage the maintenance and security of their websites.

Tasks will include managing support queries; debugging and development of web projects. You will be task oriented and enjoy completing work to a high standard. You may be a junior developer looking to make the next step up or be more experienced and be looking to join a great team in a friendly work environment.

You'll have a keen attention to detail ensuring a 'right first time' approach. Skills and experience are important but above all they will be looking for someone with the right attitude and personality to fit into their fab team.

Responsibilities

- To deliver web development tasks to a high standard, working within agreed frameworks, processes and systems.

- Supporting the wider teams to build websites aligned to their methodology and processes, including the use of tools such as Sass and Git source control.

- Browser and device testing.

- Managing support tickets.

- Performance and security of client websites, including implementing WordPress upgrades and updates.

- Supporting colleagues in the technical delivery of online marketing activity.

Skills and competencies

- Technical competence in web design and build including excellent knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3.

- Knowledge of responsive web development frameworks.

- Strong communication skills and the ability to work and contribute as part of a team.

- Attention to detail and ability to deliver work to the highest quality standards.

- Self-motivation, organisation and accountability.

- Good time management and the ability to follow agreed operational process.

- Knowledge of PHP and Javascript.

- Ability to work on a LAMP stack.

- Working knowledge of server management (cPanel, phpMyAdmin etc) would be an advantage.

Experience

- Experience of building websites within WordPress is essential and a broader experience of using other software platforms, including Hubspot and Dotmailer would be an advantage.

- Previous experience in a commercial environment is essential.

Hours - Full time (although there may be potential for part-time / flexible working hours for the right candidate)
