Job description

A Data Architect is required by a boutique Asset Management firm in central London to re-model their data into an ontological / linked data format. The team currently consists of a small, highly talented group of data scientists who analyse a wide variety of data formats to help business operational analysis.

Your role, in conjunction with the data scientists, software developers and a DevOps expert will be to write and implement data ontologies for the firm, data cleansing and convert legacy data into linked data formats, develop data ingestion and data control pipelines. You will also be responsible for the efficiency of algorithms for querying connected data, design and partitioning of SPARQL queries, development of RESTful APIs for large scale data sharing. You will be working hands on with graph databases and Triplestores. You may also be required to support and deliver data driven solutions across the firm.

Key Skills

* A background in Semantic Web, Linked Data, Ontology Modelling

* Knowledge of OWL, RDF, SPARQL essential, with experience of query optimization across and within triple stores for large scale data sharing

* Knowledge of SPARQL and RDF compliant Triplestores, NoSQL like databases, Elastic Stack, SQL, Oracle

* Strong mathematical skills in the top band of undergraduate level in a numerate subject

* Programming expertise in java, python include the development of major projects

* PhD in related subject or equivalent commercial experience
