An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Linux Systems Administrator to join a leading scientific R&D company based in Oxford.  This is a truly fascinating company to work for as they're creating products that stand to revolutionise their industry!The RoleThe Linux Systems Administrator will continue to play an integral role in the on-going development of my client's product.  Working as part of a team, you'll be expected to provide a comprehensive Linux technical resource to projects. You'll work closely with other technical team members but often you'll be the single Linux technical resource on projects, troubleshooting potential issues as well as looking at development projects from an infrastructure perspective.  The Company and EnvironmentThe company is considered to be at the cutting edge of new technology within the world of research and development.  It's a real R&D firm who have received a vast amount of investment from a host of sources to continue their exploratory work within their central product and further use.  The Linux Systems Administrator will be working on a product that is highly regarded within their industry and also widely recognised as a technology leader. RequirementsThe right Linux Systems Administrator for this role will be able to demonstrate strong previous experience in a similar role and a expertise in a range of Linux systems, particularly Debian and Ubuntu. Experience with Linux storage technologies and filesystems, as well as a strong grasp of key networking principles would also be beneficial for this position. In addition, scripting experience in Shell will be required, but Python, Perl, Ruby, or PHP would certainly set the right Linux Systems Administrator apart! 

- Expertise in Linux, including Debian/Ubuntu based systems

- Linux storage technologies and filesystems  e.g. Ext4/ZFS/mdadm

- Networking experience

- Scripting in Shell, Python, Perl, PHP, Ruby
