Our client, a leading South Africa technology company who specialise in custom software solutions and building bespoke software platforms to generate data in the medical sector are currently looking to add an experienced Scala Software Engineer to their development team in the Cape Town region. The ideal candidate will have a high level of experience as a Scala software engineer with previous experience of ScalaZ, Spray, Play or Akka frameworks. This company is currently growing quickly and is rapidly outgrowing the start-up phase and in joining now you can get in ahead of the curve and progress within the company, and really take the next step in your development career. This role will provide the chance to work on exciting technologies such as Scala, Golang, Python, and Elixir whilst also working on exciting projects and software products that will make a huge different and real-life impact on the future of the medical sector. Skills:

High level of experience of Scala development

Strong experience working with AWS

Extensive experience with any Scala frameworks

Experience with Cassandra / MongoDB / DynamoDB / Postgres

Experience with Jenkins / Docker / Chef

GIT/SVN

Desireable:

Experience with Play or Akka frameworks most desirable

Experience with Golang / Python / Elixir is a bonus

High knowledge of JavaScript / HTML5 /CSS3

Experience with RESTful APIs

Experience with Hadoop

Previous experience working on Big Data would be helpful

Salary: R50000 - R75000PM CTC
