Job Title: Technical Support / Professional Services Consultant - Linux System Administrator
Location: Manchester (WN2) - Occasional UK & international travel with overnight stays (as required)

Role Responsibilities:
* Linux administrator who will be responsible for the support and maintenance of Linux servers
* Provide support and maintenance for Java software applications within a Linux environment (Java development skills are not a requirement)
* Testing and deployment of Java software applications to Linux environment
* Server management using Nagios
* Database administration with SQL
* Out of Office Hours Support
Role Performance Indicators:
* Supporting existing systems, new implementation projects and support duties
* Management of customer relationships to ensure timely resolutions are provided
* Provide an exceptional level of technical support, complete with supporting documentation
* Excellent at managing multiple support cases with exceptional attention to detail
* Attain customer sign-off post case closure
* Keep colleagues and line manager fully informed of successes, risks and potential delays
Essential Key Skills:
* Significant Linux systems administration experience (Redhat/Centos). RHCSA is beneficial
* Experience in database administration with a good working knowledge of SQL
* Experience in Microsoft Windows client and server operating systems
* Experience in software testing and deployment
Advantageous Skills:
* Knowledge of XML and XSLT
* Experience in system monitoring systems such as Nagios
* Knowledge of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) standards such as Tradacoms, EDIFact, ANSI X12, GS1 XML etc.
* Understanding of e-business connectivity and EDI transport protocols (such as VAN, FTP, AS2 etc)
* Understanding of retail supply chain processes
* Experience of out of hours technical and infrastructure support on a rota basis
* Experience and understanding of data analysis and translation
* Excellent listening, written and verbal communications
* Self-motivated, positive personality, team player
* Well organised with good time management skills and committed to achieving targets
* Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
* Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external project stakeholders at various levels
