Change Manager

IS Service Transition & Change Manager required to join my client, a World Leader based in Oxford. You will be an experienced IT Manager with the ability to manage various IT projects and Service Changes; from transitioning new or changed IT services into support with minimal disruption to live services, to identifying and managing the decommissioning of services no longer required. Projects may include projects such as the rollout of Office 365 and the migration of their application estate to the Cloud and some smaller to medium transitions, including the introduction of an electronic procurement system and property management system. The team themselves often manage small changes, such as the enabling of single sign on or remote desktop access.

Alongside overseeing and being responsible for the transition of all IT Services you will be responsible for Change and Configuration management, knowledge management and overall service lifecycle - and this last area is a big priority for the Head of IT Service Delivery which is why the role has been split how it has (into the different responsibility areas).

You will have the following skills and experience:-

· ITIL v3

· Experience managing multiple complex projects

· Ability to influence other in order to promote good working practices

· Excellent analytical skills

· Vision to identify and create new processes and procedures where none currently exist

· Rollout of infrastructure projects / changes

· Migration of applications to the cloud

Desirable Skills:-

· Certification in / demonstrable experience of ITIL Service Transition

· Good knowledge of using Service Now

· Experience implementing a Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and Software Asses Management (SAM) process

Responsibilities:-

Service Introduction (Transition Planning and Support)

· Ensure all new Transition initiatives are captured and assessed correctly

· When required lead the design of new support models and processes to support new service implementations

· Maintain a 12-month Service Transition planner which supports the wider demand picture in Service Delivery

Change and Release Management

· As Change Manager you are responsible for controlling the lifecycle of all Changes. You will Chair a weekly Change Advisory Board and report on the success of all Requests for Change (RFC).

· Responsible for refining Release Management processes to ensure, where applicable, improved benefits to business stakeholders and internal support teams

· Responsible for maintaining all related documentation and workflows to the service standards.

Software Asset and Configuration Management (SACM)

· Accountability for defined strategies, roadmaps, polices and processes for Software Asset and Configuration management

· Ensure assets are identifiable and managed within an accurate, effective, Configuration Management database (CMDB)

· Ensure Software Asset Management (SAM) processes are implemented to ensure the use of licences are compliant and cost effective

· Actively promote and lead on the necessary culture change required to embed CMDB processes

Knowledge Management

· As Knowledge Manager ensure IS Service Delivery teams are able to gather, analyse, store and share knowledge and information

· Utilise the Enterprise Service Management tool (Service Now) to deliver effective knowledge management
