A leading player in the Central belt are looking for a Software Engineer to join their expanding software team. If you can demonstrate a proven track record of working with C/C++, then you could be the Engineer that we're looking for.

As a Software Engineer, you'll display meticulous attention to detail when writing and testing software in accordance with defined specifications. You'll work autonomously and will take responsibility for your own deliverables, showing a flair of creativity when writing and testing software from specifications. Furthermore, you'll delivery componentsF of software within the team. If you have the ability to provide expert input into project planning meetings and delivery components of software within the team, then you could be the Software Engineer that we're looking for.

The role:

You'll be involved in the design, build and testing of world-class software for a state of the art product range, along with the development side of the role there will also be maintenance tasks, fixing bugs along with participating in product design reviews and technical evaluations to ensure high internal engineering standards.

Essential Skills:

* Linux kernel development and Embedded Linux ( Yocto)

* Developing applications for Linux

* Strong OO design and programming skills C++

* STL, Boost and other C++ libraries

* Using version control (e.g. GIT)

* Agile software development methodology

The candidate:

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline, be familiar with Linux environment, compiling Linux kernel and cross platform development as well as having a good understanding of OO programming and design patterns. You should also have excellent debugging and optimisation skills. This area of technology is relatively new and fast changing so the ability and interest to learn new skill sets and technologies is a prerequisite for this role.
