Graphic Digital Designer Assistant

Hours: 36.5 hours per week (Fixed term contract until 31st July 2018)

Salary: £19,804 - £22,164 per annum plus excellent holidays and contributory pension scheme

We are looking for a bright, confident and creative design assistant with strong creative skills in both graphic and digital design to join our team. You'll produce high quality, engaging design solutions across all print and online channels for our members, commercial outlets and internal departments.

With no two days the same, you'll support our busy Communications and Marketing team in designing printed materials from logos to flyers, to web and social banners; you'll assist with editing and creating exciting content for our website; and support the team in promoting our recently refreshed visual identity to build our brand with our members and the community.

This fixed term contract is perfect for someone who likes variety, is self-motivated and proactive; who takes real pride in their work and looking to gain further experience in a friendly and hard working environment.

What's the job?

Working closely with the Communication & Marketing team and reporting into the Communications & Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for providing graphic and digital support across the whole of the Students' Union.

You will get involved in a range of different projects, developing creative solutions across a variety of materials for our print and online channels i.e. logos, publications, posters, adverts, flyers, digital screens, promotional items, web and social banners to name a few.

You will assist with maintaining and updating the current WSU website and microsites by uploading content, images and data ensuring the site is accurate and representative of the Students' Union identity and ethos.

You will also be required to carry out ad hoc administrational tasks to support the organisation in making best use of all our communications channels for our benefit of members.

Who you are:

This is a dynamic and varied role so you will need to be flexible, self-motivated and love to find solutions well as a team player with a real passion for on and offline design.

You will also possess:

* A strong knowledge and understanding of Adobe CC packages (in particular InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, & Acrobat), CMS, HTML5 and CSS3
