Automation Tester required for a 3- 6 month initial contract based in Osterley

This is a role within a new project creating a set of Mobile applications that enable customers to browse, buy and watch Sky's content. You will be instrumental in developing working practices to enable a fast and efficient delivery capability

The Mobile Tester role is focused around testing new user interface components on Mobile devices. The role will be part of an agile development team using web and native Mobile technologies using automation skills. The testing team work closely with Product Management and UX design teams to ensure a successful product development cycle. The successful candidate will have a strong testing background. Tester experience in a related industry i.e. IPTV & VOD. Have very good domain knowledge in video on demand, content ingestion, Video encryption and Streaming. The candidate must encompass excellent oral and written skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical audiences

Key Responsibilities & Activities

* Collaborate daily with the development team (Developers, Analysts, Testers & Designers) to help produce acceptance criteria for user stories, providing technical and domain expertise that will help drive decision making

* Quality should be at the heart of everything you do. Along with the wider team, you'll be responsible for ensuring quality and security of the application. This will include writing and maintain existing automation tests and helping drive forward our efforts in BDD

Essential Skills & Experience

* Solid Mobile Testing background - both manual and automated testing with a strong experience of Android and/or iOS

* Expertise in at least one mobile testing framework - Appium or Calabash

* Executing and maintaining large test suites

* BDD experience

* Proficiency in Ruby or similar OO language

* Awareness of principals of managing development processes with an interest in agile development practices e.g. XP, Scrum

* Create and review documentation (Test Plans, Release Notes, Test Scripts, and Defect Reports etc.)

* Strong ability to learn and pick up new technologies

* Proactively assess testing standards in accordance with regulated guidelines

* Ability to work alone / be self-directed / Excellent problem solving skills

Preferred

* Knowledge of Video/Streaming technologies and applications

* Unit Testing Experience

* Development Experience is desired

* Experience setting up Continuous Integration servers

* Understanding and experience of Cross Platform development

* Collaboration with non-technical business stakeholders to agree requirements, timescales and acceptance criteria
