About The Role:

JOB SCOPE/PURPOSE:

* To work within a mixed-discipline R&D team, assisting in the development of next-generation industrial ink-jet printing products

* To improve the quality and predictability of software releases through detailed and comprehensive testing with a bias towards automated test development

* To increase the overall productivity of the team, working in a fast-paced development environment, reducing time-to-market

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Lead a small team of experienced Test Engineers.

* Gain and maintain familiarity with the portfolio of existing and forthcoming products.

* Participate in the design of both manual and automated tests for new and existing products.

* Produce high-quality documentation where required in support of those tests

* Produce reports and metrics relating to test library coverage, automated test development and test results.

* Conduct appraisals of individual team members and participate in creation of development goals.

* Collaborate closely with software engineers during debug efforts.

* Pro-actively seek opportunities to improve QA processes and practices within the team.

COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

* Degree-level education, preferably in an engineering-related field.

* Minimum 5 years relevant software testing experience and 2 years Team Lead experience.

* Good communication skills, both written and verbal including the ability to disseminate ideas and information in an open, crisp manner to reports, peers and management.

* Proven track record with automated test tools an advantage, esp. Squish.

* Good working knowledge of Python, Javascript or equivalent scripting language.

* Basic understanding of real-time principles and an appreciation of networked devices, distributed processes and packet-based protocols.

* Strong commitment to the design and test of high quality software.

* Tenacity, attention to detail and the motivation to consistently deliver according to agreed project plans.

* Pro-active attitude and an enthusiasm to become a team-player in a pressured but highly productive environment using Agile/Lean methods.

* Basic competency with typical 'office' applications
