Senior Network and Security Engineer- London, £80K

We are recruiting for a Senior Network and Security Engineer for a global business. Currently they are going through a complete overhaul of their infrastructure services. They now require a Senior Network and Security Engineer to join their team and ensure that the new networks are secured against threats. An ever more important role in the modern world!

This role will suit a very experienced Network and Security Engineer and whilst some design knowledge will be required this is not an architect role.

Responsibilities of the Senior Network and Security Engineer:

* Provide technical expertise to the architecture team and management to influence decisions relating to the Network and Security services.

* Work with external suppliers to understand the most modern technologies and provide the best products to the infrastructure team.

* Be an active member of the transformation team, recommending changes and improvements.

* Provide design expertise to assist architects.

* Document all network changes effectively.

* Manage support processes and responses to potential threats.

* Be an active participant in incident resolution, escalating when required.

* Provide mentoring to team members and junior staff.

Skill set and Background required for the Senior Network and Security Engineer Role:

* Experienced engineer skills in the Network and Security sector.

* Excellent knowledge of looking after Firewalls on an enterprise level.

* Previous experience of being involved in project work relating to Network and Security or enterprise level.

* Strong exposure to security gateway products.

* Excellent understanding of security best practices, re-acting to threats, intrusion detection, data leakage etc.

* Strong knowledge of OSI model including: TCP/IP, DNS. Routing switches etc

* Background in translating business requirements into workable product and deployment designs.

* Experienced across multi-vendor with firewalls.

* Extensive experience of incident management across multiple technologies.

* Knowledge of AWS as an Iaas offering would be preferred but not essential.

The Senior Network and Security Engineer role is based in London.

The Senior Network and Security Engineer role will pay a salary of £75,000-£80,000 + Benefits. Salary is dependent on experience and background.
