Field Based (covering the South West)

The Company
As experts in building services, our client provides planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and project works for both the public and private sectors. Primarily focusing their efforts on the South West of England and South Wales, their approach can be summed up in three words: value, quality and reliability.
They are now looking for committed Domestic Gas Engineers to join their expanding team and train to become Commercial Gas Engineers ideally located in or around Somerset.

Joining a talented team of 26 Gas, Electric and Fabric Engineers, you’ll have the chance to undertake excellent training (fully funded by the company) to become a Commercial Gas Engineer.

The Role
As a Domestic Gas Engineer, you’ll install, test and maintain a range of gas and mechanical equipment while training to become a Commercial Gas Engineer.
Working at locations across the South West, you will:
- Provide full plumbing assistance and services
- Diagnose faults on malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components
- Connect plumbing, heating and gas pipework systems
- Plan the layout and installation of mechanical services, equipment and fixtures
- Provide information allowing quotations to be submitted
About You
To be considered, you’ll need:
- Experience in gas maintenance and/or installation work
- To hold a competence card issued by the Gas Safe Register
- H&S knowledge relating to gas maintenance and installation
- To be competent in plumbing
- A full driving licence
Some electrical awareness would be beneficial, as would any commercial gas or commercial gas catering experience. IPAF/PASMA training would also be an advantage, as would an LPG or Oftec qualification. Drainage experience would be equally favourable.
Other companies may call this role Gas Safe Engineer, Commercial Gas Safe Engineer, Senior Mechanical Technician, Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Maintenance Engineer.
Our client is interested in hearing from candidates who have held the title of Preventative Maintenance Engineer, Reactive Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or Field Service Engineer.
