Business Analyst
We have an opportunity for a Business Analyst to join Experis on a permanent basis. You will be working as part of our Employed Consultant team, on site with a major energy company based in Nottingham. This is a chance to be part of a blue chip organisation whose key priority is investing in its people.
Main responsibilities:
* Act as a primary interface with end users to produce business and functional requirements
* Undertake pre-study feasibility activity, taking an outline idea and developing to sufficient detail to enable a decision to be made on whether to proceed
* Prepare Business Requirements documentation for change projects
* Analyse requirements through user interviews and data collection and transform those requirements into solutions for implementation
* Work with users to balance cost to implement/ complexity of requirement with projected benefit of a change, reaching agreement on the scope of any development
* Prepare cost estimates and project timelines for business analysis activity required on projects
* Work with Finance colleagues and operational stakeholders to build the benefits case for investment
* Provide input into training and implementation plans
* Work with System Designers to translate requirements into technical deliverables
* Work with System Developers throughout the development phase to resolve any areas of change and ensure that the delivered solution meets the requirements of the business
* Participate in the User Acceptance Testing phase of a project to resolve business queries and aid the smooth transition of projects towards implementation
Essential
* Strong academic record, most likely with graduate level education
* Strong written and verbal communication ability
* Consultancy skills (e.g. workshop facilitation, presentation skills, driving business effectiveness, change management, strategic thinking, leveraging IT solutions to deliver business benefit)
* Influencing skills (e.g. stakeholder management, negotiation skills, assertiveness)
* Ability to identify, communicate and solve complex problems
* Ability to establish, develop and maintain effective relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders up to Senior Manager level
* Experience of having direct responsibility for all business analysis activities on large scale (£500k+)
* Experience of IT software development projects through the full life cycle
* Experience of working in a business analysis position using some or all of the following techniques and varying methodologies: Requirements analysis, Process modelling or Logical data modelling.
* Production of business cases
* Ability to translate technical details into language easily understood by the business
* Ability to plan and organise effectively and take the initiative within agreed parameters
* Experience of project delivery in Retail, Financial Services or the Energy Sector
* Experience of both traditional IT projects and Agile development using SCRUM, Extreme Programming and/ or similar methodologies
