About the role(s)

HS2 is a key priority for Camden Council due to its unprecedented and significant impacts on the Borough. Now that the HS2 Act has passed in to law, HS2 moves to construction and Camden is moving into a new phase of work. The Council now needs to be prepared to respond to the operational challenges of ensuring our communities can continue to live healthy and happy lives while construction takes place.

We are recruiting to two fast paced, high profile roles that require strong and experienced Project Managers who are comfortable using tools and techniques to secure the successful delivery of varied and changing programmes of work.

The Project Manager (Assurances) role will include holding HS2 Ltd to account on the delivery of over 100 assurances while the Project Manager (Consents) will focus on ensuring we provide an efficient and effective response to applications from HS2 Ltd and its contractors.

Applicants are free to apply for either or both of the roles. Generic project management and relationship management skills are needed in both cases, however the Project Manager (Assurances) role is more internally focussed around programme monitoring, risk monitoring and governance while the Project Manager (Consents) role includes an important external focus, building a relationship with HS2 Ltd and its contractors and co-ordinating Camden’s response to applications to carry out works.

About You

- You will be an experienced and successful Project Manager capable of leading projects yourself as well as capturing and reporting on a highly varied Council-wide programme of work.

- You will be comfortable with ambiguity and will need to bring people together on a tough journey.

- You will enjoy working in a fast paced, changing working environment and will have a good understanding of how local government works and the functions it delivers.
