As Senior Technical Analyst, you will be a key member of the Pricing Team. Your contribution will help to ensure health care is bought and paid for in a way that enables and promotes economic, efficient and effective services that deliver good quality care to patients’ needs today and tomorrow.

The Pricing Team’s core functions and responsibilities include:

To produce the National Tariff Document (working closely with the NHS England) that sets out the methodology and prices for NHS services and associated rules and guidance for variation;

To agree with the NHS England a long-term pricing strategy and undertake associated research, development and evaluation projects;

To publish, communicate and engage with commissioners, providers and others on the National Tariff Document and other pricing tools;

To assess and determine outcomes of variable caseload of local modifications and variations with other teams as appropriate.

Your remit as the Senior Technical Analyst will be to provide in-depth analysis on pricing policies, to calculate prices from costs, and to develop and quality assure other tariff models using data from large structured datasets as well as other smaller datasets from across the NHS.

The Senior Technical Analyst will be required to carry out investigations and analysis using large structured databases. These analyses will require a range of technical skills including; database management, working with large, complex data, statistical/analytic skills, interpretation and comparison of technical/policy options, all of which must be informed by area specific knowledge in healthcare.
