A Development Manager is sought by this major provider of SAAS based data services, to report to the Head of Engineering and run their Insurance Products Team of 20 Java Software Engineers.

LEADERSHIP

This Developer Manager role is all about providing management and leadership to an Agile development team, developing the staff and creating a team culture of collaboration and productivity.

DRIVING DELIVERY

The team is divided into 2 scrum teams, each run by a Scrum Master/Lead Java developer, and this Developer Manager role is responsible for leading the delivery of a whole suite of new products and features for their market leading B2B insurance platform.

AGILE XP

This Developer Manager will be leading a team that follows the Agile XP methodology and is responsible for managing the delivery pipeline to ensure code quality is never sacrificed in times of high demand.

TECHNICAL PRODUCT MANAGEMENT

This team is very product driven, and the Developer Manager will be working very closely with the Product Managers and Sales team to shape and deliver products. Because this SAAS platform drives this company's revenue, there is a commerciality about this Development Manager role and as such it involves working closely with the Application Architect to picking the most sensible, best-fit technologies and doing things the right way.

CLIENT FACING

The insurance team is very heavily client driven, and there will be times when this Development Manager will need to meet clients and represent the company's technical platform.
