Graduate Software Engineer£25k-£35k
Graduate Software Engineers with C and Linux are required to join a technology company who are going through a major growth phase. This Graduate Software Engineer will be looking to gain skills in development using C on Linux for complex and challenging software that is the industry standard in its field.
Over time, you will become expert in technical skills including C and assembler programming, Python scripting and networking technologies. Being able to demonstrate your prior skills and knowledge in these areas is a significant advantage.
Their ultra-low-latency networking product architectures enable superior performance in a broad range of applications, including financial services, high-performance computing, cloud computing, storage and virtualised data centres. They are currently expanding the software team which develops high performance network stacks and are looking for software engineers with strong C programming skills who can quickly understand a complex hardware and software architecture.
This role involves working on an ultra-high performance TCP/IP implementation, a sockets layer, which is semantically identical to Linux and a number of Linux kernel modules integrating closely with the Linux network stack.
The company actively push patches into the mainline Linux kernel and employees get to contribute to the community. They are looking for the very best Graduate Software Engineers to drive core development activities in C on Linux.
Suitable Graduate Software Engineers will have:
- Strong C programming skills, gained from University, internships or hobby projects
- A strong academic background (either PhD, or 1st/2.1 undergraduate degree from a well ranked University)
- Project experience (University or hobby) of Linux development
