ORC International is currently embarking on an ambitous new online research platform to facilitate data collection, integration and reporting. We are currently recruiting for a Data Architect to join our friendly team for an initial 6 months contract assignment.
Meet with business stakeholders and other technical team members to
gather and analyse application requirements
Design database solutions to satisfy application (business and
technical) requirements
Design, maintain and build conceptual, logical and physical database models
Database architecture, design, and creation, optimisation, deriving
conversion and migration methods for existing data, and developing automated
ingestion methods for other data feeds
Implement database solutions using available database development tools
Working in a new team designing the end to end customer solution
Planning, installation, configuration, maintenance and production
monitoring of database instances
Preferred Background and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent
experience
7-10 years working experience in database technologies, ideally in a data aggregation and data warehouse environment
Ability to design and implement ETL processes and technology
Ability to analyse existing database schema DDL/instance layout and
determine impacts migrating to new target schema/instance environment.
Strong experience in ETL tools
Strong experience in data modelling
Ability to provide guidance to developers and to lead certain
design activities
