IDC’s European Personal Computing Group in London has a vacancy for a Research / Senior Research Analyst and is looking for an enthusiast and committed candidate to contribute to its quarterly and annual Personal Computing Device research program.
Responsibilities:
Main duties:
Analyse Personal Computing Device (PC and Tablet) market dynamics in Western Europe on a quarterly and annual basis
Develop in-depth knowledge of key European geographies and manufacturer’ strategies (product strategies, technology developments, pricing and channel strategies) through primary and secondary research
Collect and analyse data, process data into IDC own Database
Identify key markets trends and produce quality market assessment and market forecasts
Write and present quarterly market updates and market insights
Become a key analyst interface for our European-wide clients
Work closely with the other analysts in the group in EMEA and at Worldwide
The role is UK-based but may involve some foreign travel.
Qualifications:
The successful applicants will demonstrate the following:
Graduate level with economic or business background and at least two years’ experience in computer-related market research, consulting, or product marketing
Excellent quantitative and qualitative analysis skills
Well organised and an ability to work with deadlines
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with clients
Desire for individual contribution to our research and business
Ability to manage several projects at the same time
Key interest and enthusiasm for technology markets
Knowledge of the IT industry and European markets is a key advantage
English language is required but another European language (French, German, Italian or Spanish) is an advantage
