WorkDigital is a cloud-based data services company that builds and powers enterprise HR & CRM products making use of proprietary natural language processing algorithms. Award-winning company has been featured in the NYTimes, Financial Times, the BBC, WIRED, The Guardian, TechCrunch, is searching a talented PHP Software Engineer to join their team in the Silicon Roundabout area (Old Street/Shoreditch).
As a PHP Engineer you will work closely with the team on a variety of innovative products, you must be passionate, pro-active, ambitious and open to learn latest technologies and trends.
Ensuring good coding practice throughout the team: code review, documenting code and choices, share knowledge with other team members and be able to reuse code without "reinvent the wheel".
Responding to time critical issues, understand how to balance delivering projects on time, find good/better solutions when building software with the ability to be "technology agnostic and testing out different solutions to find the best fit for every challenge.
Responsibilities
Essential:
-Basic experience with PHP 5+ and command line tools
-MVC development using at least one of the top frameworks (Symfony 2, Zend, Slim, Silex)
-Good understanding of Linux environments: Bash, Daemons, command line tools.
-Good understanding of testing environments, TDD, integration and so on.
-Good experience using GIT/SVN
Desirable:
-Front End technologies such as HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery or Mustache.js
-ReactJS, Flux, D3.js
-Vagrant / Docker
-ActiveMQ / RabbitMQ
-Continuous Integration (Jenkins)
-Contribution to Open Source projects
Required Education and/or Experience:
-A Computer Science degree or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
-Strong PHP programming ability - ability to write high quality and maintainable code
-A Good understanding of algorithms, software architecture and design
-An Ability to collaborate within an Agile team and communicate effectively
-Good problem solving and analysis skills
