Infrastructure Support Analyst (Linux and Windows servers; SQL; UNIX / Linux scripting; Citrix; AD; Networks) - This well-established but steadily expanding Financial software vendor in the City has created a new position for an experienced Infrastructure Support Analyst to join their Managed Services team. It offers a variety of responsibilities from project support, client support, to release management. Client Support Analyst - the Role
This exciting role will certainly keep you challenged; it spans the following activities: -
Project Technical Support - E.g. initial server and infrastructure installation and configuration; Product installation; Shell scripting; etc
Technical Support - E.g. proactive monitoring and health checks; reactive support to 2nd line support calls; working to SLAs.
Technical Documentation Production - E.g. working with clients and suppliers to produce infrastructure design documents .
Enhancements and Release Management - E.g. client coordination, raising service pack releases, working with the Client Managers through enhancement process.
Client Support Analyst - the Person
Essential skills: -
Proven experience managing Linux and Windows based servers
Experience in network administration and understanding of different network zones and security.
Experience of release management tools (e.g. Puppet, Chef, etc)
Knowledge of basic SQL.
Unix or Linux Shell Scripting skills
Experience of Active Directory administration.
Knowledge of Citrix server administration.
Experience of software installation.
Experience of server monitoring.
Understanding of server and application health, including running daily checks.
Experience in writing technical documentation.
The ability to work occasional out of hours and weekend work (overtime available for this) - this is mainly for software upgrade installations 'out of hours' for clients
Desirable skills: -
Knowledge of Application servers such as Jboss/WebSphere
Understanding of relational database management systems.
Knowledge of or qualifications in ITIL.
Understanding of Network protocols particularly TCP/IP
Exposure to wide area networks.
