Job Role: Principle Software

Location: Bristol City Centre

Salary: £55,000 - £60,000

Benefits: 25 days holiday + bank holidays , pension with up to 8% contribution, flexible hours, parking and many more

What will you be doing?

I am working with a key client in Bristol to recruit a Principal Software Engineer to their team to lead the implementation of safety critical software design, development and test.

The ideal candidate is a hands on engineer with some fire in their belly to achieve! Your role will be to design and development of aircraft, marine and land systems.

Experience Required:

*C/C++/MISRA

*Awareness of DO254

*Experienced in systems and software engineering principles

*Candidates will be degree qualified in a related discipline

*Ability to lead activities within a team

*Working within a quality system environment, such as AS9100 or ISO9001

*DO178 (DAL B or DAL A) essential

*61508 (SIL2 or SIL3) desirable

*Solid understanding of the Engineering 'V' Lifecycle

*Software safety case generation

*Failure Mode Effects Criticality Analysis (FMECA)

*Preliminary Hazard Identification (PHI)

*System level analyses

*Complex systems integration

Key Accountabilities

*Leading the design, development and test of complex software development programmes delivering to time, cost and quality

*Formal customer requirements capture, negotiation and derivation

*Support the development of new business proposals, through technical content, work breakdown and hours / cost estimates, and where necessary provide technical iteration with customers to promote a successful outcome.

*Preparation, checking and approval of the specifications for system and software design Preparation, checking and approval of qualification and certification test plans / procedures for software design.

*Supporting other members of the team with coding know-how, safety knowledge and best practice

*Promote within the project environment adherence to best practice standards, including those issued via the Company's Quality Management System, classifications and statutory bodies
